Exact Products

Both Clinique and Mario Badescu have a variety of products that you can choose from. So, which are we comparing here? It took us a lot of time to find the right ones, but we finally found the two that made the most sense. Both are amazing at delivering hydration to your skin, and they are their most popular products.

We are specifically comparing Mario Badescu Seaweed Night Cream vs Clinique Dramatically Different Moisturizing Lotion+.

While the former says it’s night cream, the truth is that many people have used this throughout the day and with amazing results. It actually mimics some very high-class moisturizers that cost hundreds of dollars.

That’s not to say that Clinique Lotion+ is any slouch. This lotion makes your skin glow and it lasts all day. You’ll quickly feel your skin take in the moisture and you’ll feel better than ever. This is done with a unique mix of sunflower seed and barley extract, which gives it many healthy properties that your skin will love.

Uses

Both of these are very versatile moisturizers, but which one has more uses? As you may have seen yourself, some moisturizers are only good for certain times of day while others can only be used on specific parts of your body (such as your face or arms).

Clinique Dramatically Different Lotion is very versatile. It’s formulated to be used during the day, but it can also be used at night with ease. That’s because it was created to deliver lasting hydrating that lasts for hours and hours. Your skin will feel soft and supple after a quick dab.

It can be used all over your body. Feel free to put it on your face, neck, arms, and anywhere else. This works very well on dry skin, but it’s great on all skin types as well.

Mario Badescu was formulated as a night moisturizer. Many people don’t know the difference between day and night lotions, and honestly it comes down to a matter of preference.

Night moisturizers tend to be thicker, last longer (to ensure hydration throughout the night), and a little heavier. That being said, there are some rare instances where a night moisturizer can be used throughout the day. Mario Badescu is one such product.

Much like Clinique, this can be used on your face, neck, and anywhere else with ease. It also lasts for a very long time, so you don’t need to worry about constantly reapplying the moisturizer.

In general we would say they are basically tied. Mario is a little better as it lasts somewhat longer, but they are both versatile and have many uses.

Effectiveness

These moisturizers make some very bold claims, but we can say that they are both very effective. At the same time, Mario felt a little better. We know some people will disagree as it’s quite subjective, but it seems like popular opinion is also with us.

Clinique uses a combination of sunflower seed and barley extract to strengthen the moisture barrier on the skin while also giving you 50% more moisture than most other lotions. This ensures that your skin feels great all day, and the effect gets better every time you use it.

This means that your skin is left feeling smooth, silky, and you can say goodbye to dry patches.

Mario Badescu uses a potent seaweed extract that is only found in some of the top moisturizers. This dives deep under the skin to give you intense moisture that most other lotions simply can’t do. Not only that, but this moisturizer is a little thicker, which allows it to really get under the surface to make your skin smooth and soft.

Both are amazing and you’ll likely be happy with either, but we found that Mario is the real winner here.

Clinique vs Mario Badescu: Absorption

Have you ever had a moisturizer that simply won’t absorb? It lingers on your skin and it feels gross. Some of the worst moisturizers barely even hydrate the skin, but they’ll stay on your face and arms forever. You want a moisturizer that absorbs quickly while still hydrating under the surface.

While we found that both of these absorb fairly quickly, Clinique was the better of the two in this regard. It absorbed rapidly while leaving the skin soft and silky. Mario Badescu was similar, but it took a bit longer to absorb.

That’s really no surprise when you consider that it was made for nighttime use, but it still didn’t take long at all for it to fully absorb.

We’re only take a different of about a minute, but Clinique was still the better option here.

Mario Badescu and Clinique: Feeling

You want a lightweight moisturizer that’s heavy enough to cling to the skin, but not so heavy that it weighs you down. Heavy moisturizers feel uncomfortable, especially on your face and neck.

They were nearly identical in this regard. Mario Badescu is a little thicker as a nighttime moisturizer, but we still found that it felt better against the skin. Clinique was just a little too lightweight for our preferences. That being said, this is another subjective portion. Some people are vocal about how much they like Clinique, yet most people found that Mario was the better of the two.

Is Mario Badescu or Clinique Better?

Which of these moisturizers is better? While Clinique has many benefits, such as amazing ingredients, being more lightweight, absorbing faster, and even having a pump bottle, but we liked Mario Badescu better. It hydrated better, stayed on longer, and doubles as a nighttime lotion if needed, though both are great throughout the entire day.

It’s a very close race, but we found which is better between them.

What is the Difference Between Mario Badescu and Clinique?

Curious about what is the difference between Clinique and Mario Badescu? We found that while both of these are very powerful moisturizers with tons of benefits, there were a number of differences.

By the way, check out these other Mario Badescu reviews for more information:

Mario moisturizer primarily uses a seaweed extract that is commonly found in the most expensive lotions, but this brand is quite affordable. Clinique Lotion+ has sunflower seed and barley extract, which also deliver intense hydration, but not quite as much.

Clinique is a daytime moisturizer while Badescu is a nighttime moisturizer, but we found that both are useful throughout the whole day. That being said, we found Badescu to be more versatile as it felt better overall, though Clinique is a close second here.

Final Thoughts

It’s a very close race, but we have to give the win to Mario Badescu. While these are both highly versatile and hydrating moisturizers, Mario just beat Clinique in most categories. While Clinique is better in some ways and is slightly more affordable, we think you get more value with Mario Badescu.
