We’ve compared Stila eyeliner vs other brands before, but we have some very stiff competition here. Normally the other brands are similar to Stila, but it pulls ahead in terms of color or some other factor. However, when it comes to Stila vs Urban Decay eyeliner, there are many differences and this will come down to your personal preference.

We are specifically comparing Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner vs Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner Pencil.

So, which is best when it comes to Urban Decay vs Stila eyeliner? We are going to compare them based on feel, application, color, whether they’re waterproof, and any other differences we discover.

Read on to find the perfect eyeliner for your needs.

Stila vs Urban Decay: Feel

These actually feel very different and that works towards both of their advantages. It really depends on what you’re looking for. Urban Decay is a thicker pencil while Stila is more of a fine-tip pen. This also plays a major role in their application, but that’s for the next section.

Urban Decay is thicker and not quite as smooth, but that’s because it gives you room to blend the makeup. You can put it on and that’s it, or you can play around with it and blend the eyeliner for a beautiful aesthetic. Both are fine, but you have options.

Stila on the other hand feels smoother and dries faster. It’s also more lightweight and barely feels like it’s there (in a great way!). While it’s not meant so much for blending, you can do this if you’re fast.

Both feel lightweight once their finished drying. We found that Stila felt better overall, but we loved being able to blend with the Urban Decay eyeliner.

Urban Decay vs Stila: Application

Both of these are technically pencil eyeliners, but Stila is more of a pen eyeliner while Urban Decay is a true pencil.

Urban Decay’s tip is larger, which is ideal for covering larger areas. If you want a wider line, then this is exactly what you need. However, you do lose out on accuracy and fine lines. This is best if you want a wider line of color that everyone can see.

If you want accuracy, then Stila eye liner pens are much better. The fine tip ensures that you only cover the areas you want. You won’t have to worry about getting makeup anywhere you don’t want it, plus, this is easier to control and less likely to get in your eyes.

Outside of that, both are easy to apply and you should have no problems with them. Do a few passes on the area and you should be good.

It’s hard to determine a winner here since it depends on what you want. If you prefer larger, thicker lines, then Urban Decay is better. If you want fine lines, precision, and accuracy, then choose Stila.

Color

If you read our other Stila eyeliner reviews, then you know this is normally where things really tip in Stila’s favor. Normally it’s a pretty close race with Stila being somewhat better, but this is when it blows the competitors out of the water.

Not this time.

Stila has an impressive nine colors, but Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On colors come in 30+ different varieties! Let’s go through them so that you see what’s available.

The Stila colors include:

  • Stila Liquid Eyeliner Alloy
  • Stila Liquid Eyeliner Chocolate
  • Stila Liquid Eyeliner Intense Black
  • Stila Liquid Eyeliner Intense Jade
  • Stila Liquid Eyeliner Intense Labradorite
  • Stila Liquid Eyeliner Intense Smoky Quartz
  • Stila Liquid Eyeliner Midnight
  • Stila Liquid Eyeliner Paradise Pink
  • Stila Liquid Eyeliner White

That’s an impressive number of colors. You get a good mix of neutrals and intense, vibrant colors.

Urban Decay colors include:

  • Urban Decay 24/7 Bourbon
  • Chaos
  • Corrupt
  • Deep End
  • Demolition
  • Desperation
  • Empire
  • LSD
  • Loaded
  • Mainline
  • Mildew
  • Mushroom
  • Urban Decay 24/7 Perversion (Most Popular!)
  • Psychedelic
  • Raw Energy
  • Reflect
  • Rockstar
  • Roxy
  • Sabbath
  • Smog
  • Smoke
  • Stash
  • Tigers Eye
  • Uzi
  • AND MORE!

Not only are there lots of colors, but they also have fun names. At the same time, this does make it a little harder to know which is which. For example, what color do you think Loaded or Rockstar are? (Why don’t you check to see if you’re right!?)

Naming aside, Urban Decay is better here, especially if you want vibrant and really out there colors. If you’re looking for neutrals or prefer the Stila palette, then we’d say check out Stila. In either case you’ll find lots of variety.

Waterproof

Waterproof eyeliner tends to be considered the best because it stays longer, resists the rain, and it great against any water (which is ideal for anything around your eyes). Not only does it last longer, but the colors tend to stay vibrant throughout the whole day, and who doesn’t want that?

The only disadvantage we can think of is that it’s a little harder to remove waterproof eyeliner, but it’s really not that hard.

So, is there any difference here between Stila vs Urban Decay eye liner? Not really to be honest. Both of these are waterproof eyeliner pencils that resist water fantastically. Whether you’re crying your eyes out or walking through a torrential rainstorm, you shouldn’t have to worry about either of these running, streaking, or fading.

Stila seemed a little more waterproof of the two, but only by a little. In general though, both are great here and we can’t decide on a winner.

What are the Differences Between Stila and Urban Decay Eyeliner?

Curious about the differences between Urban Decay and Stila Eyeliner? There are actually many differences here between them, more than other eyeliners we’ve reviewed.

If you’re curious how Stila stacks up against other eyeliners, then check these out:

When it comes to Stila Stay All Day Waterproof Liquid Eye Liner, this is a pencil-style eyeliner that’s really more of a pen with a precise, accurate tip. It’s easy to apply, comes in thin, fine lines, and it dries quickly and feels very light along your eye. Plus, it comes in nine colors to choose from, so you can choose between either vibrant or neutral colors.

Urban Decay 24/7 Glide-On Eyeliner Pencil is a more traditional pencil-style eyeliner with thicker lines that you can blend as needed. While not quite as precise as Stila, it’s still very accurate and easy to use. It also feels lightweight once it dries. The color selection is beautiful with 30+ colors, most of which are vibrant and lovely.
