If you know anything about liquid lipstick, then you know that Stila and Anastasia are bitter rivals. They both come in many colors, look fantastic, and cost nearly the same. Choosing the right one between Stila vs Anastasia liquid lipstick is one of the hardest choices you’ll have to make. Don’t worry, we’ll help break down the differences and show you the best liquid lipstick for your needs.
We are specifically comparing Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick vs Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick. These are the most popular offerings from both brands, so it only seems right.
Today we’re comparing Anastasia vs Stila liquid lipstick by taking a look at how they feel, their application, color differences, how long they last, and any other differences that we can find. By the end of this, our liquid lipstick review will show you which brand is superior.
Stila vs Anastasia Liquid Lipstick: Feel
The ideal liquid lipstick is nearly weightless and it dries quickly after you apply it. You have a few seconds after applying it to rub the lipstick around and get every angle of your lips before it dries and sets. Plus, liquid lipstick should feel like it naturally covers your entire lip, it’s probably one of the best ways to apply it.
With that being said, which one feels better?
They both feel great. Both of them are very lightweight and dry very quickly. However, we did notice a difference between them.
Stila offers both matte and shiny colors while Anastasia is mainly just matte. The matte from both brands feel nearly identical. Stila seemed to dry a little faster and be a little more lightweight, but that might be subjective.
However, the shiny colors took a bit longer to dry and felt a tiny bit heavier. Not by much, but enough that we noticed it. Not enough to be an issue, but we want you to know everything and this was an observation we made.
We’d call this a tie. They feel so similar that we couldn’t really pick one specific winner over the other.
Anastasia vs Stila Liquid Lipstick: Application
How do you apply liquid lipstick? It’s actually very easy. The majority are made the same way. They come in a tube with a doe foot applicator. Simply dip the applicator into the liquid lipstick, rub it onto your lips, and you’re all done. See? Couldn’t be easier.
Though most brands use the same application method, we’ve seen some cheap liquid lipstick with awful applicators. They might feather the liquid or not apply it evenly or properly. So, are there any problems with these brands?
Thankfully both are fantastic and made nearly the same. Stila’s doe foot is a little curved while Anastasia’s is straight. We found that Stila was somewhat easier to apply because of this difference. It was only by a small amount, but this tiny design difference made it simpler to rub the lipstick exactly where we wanted it.
Both are great, but we preferred Stila. However, many people stand by Anastasia and we wouldn’t blame them, their applicator is better than a lot of other ones out there.
Here is one of the biggest differences here. Both brands offer a tremendous number of color options.
In our Stila liquid lipstick vs Anastasia liquid lipstick review, we found that Anastasia offered more colors, but Stila is no slouch. Plus, Stila had more glossy colors while Anastasia was mainly matte colors.
With that being said, which color is right for you? Let’s show you all the available colors so that you can decide.
Stila Liquid Lipstick Colors
- Beso (True Red)
Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick Colors
- American Doll
- Bitter Sweet
- Dusty Rose
- Pure Hollywood
- Rock Sand
- Trust Issues
As you can see, that’s a lot of colors regardless of which brand you choose. While Anastasia’s list is much longer, Stila might be the better choice if you want glossy colors.
We suggest taking a quick look through the colors and seeing which ones are right for you. Just a few clicks and you’re sure to find the top liquid lipstick color for your aesthetic. Anastasia wins the numbers game, but both have great offerings and we suggest checking both before making your decision.
When you think liquid lipstick, you should think something that lasts all day, doesn’t fade, keeps its vibrant color for many hours, and needs minimal application. Plus, the color should be super saturated so that everyone sees it (no need to be subtle!).
Both of these are weightless, smudge-proof, last for 10-15 hours, and provide you with lasting color for the whole day. We didn’t find a significant difference between the two. In fact, it was hard to tell them apart after many hours. They both still looked fantastic and ensure our lips stayed beautiful all day.
While we can’t find a difference here, that just means you’re in good hands no matter which one you choose.
What is the Difference Between Stila and Anastasia Liquid Lipstick?
To be honest, it was hard finding major differences between Anastasia and Stila liquid lipstick. Much harder than with other brands. They both feel weightless and natural, last nearly all day, have fantastic colors, and apply easily. In fact, the differences are minor at best.
Stila was a little easier to put on due to the angled applicator. Anastasia offers far more colors, but Stila’s library of colors is nothing to scoff at. Plus, Stila has glossy colors while Anastasia is primarily matte. Stila also hydrated lips slightly more, which might be a deciding factor for those with dry lips.
Both are fantastic and among the best liquid lipsticks available, so it’s simply a matter of choosing the most important factors for yourself.
So, who is the real winner between Anastasia Beverly Hills Liquid Lipstick vs Stila Stay All Day Liquid Lipstick? It’s very tough to judge since these are at the top of their game. Stila offered more glossy colors, seemed to last a tiny bit longer, and hydrated lips better. Anastasia offered more colors overall and was a little more lightweight.
Both are great, but which one did you choose? Be sure to let us know.
