While 365F is often considered the best overall temperature for hair straightening, some people prefer lower while others want hotter. Due to that, we like looking at the max temperature of straighteners to see which is the best.

Babyliss Pro Titanium offers a max temperature of 450F, which is amazing, but that’s not what impressed us. What really impressed us was the number of temperature settings. There are 50 settings to choose from. This ensures that you can easily get the exact temp you want without having to settle for something a little too high or low.

T3 Micro Lucea is similar with a max temperature of 410F, which is pretty good, but the major difference is that it only has 9 temperature settings. That’s a little disappointing compared to Babyliss’s 50 settings, but there is one advantage T3 Lucea Micro has.

This comes with HeatID, which is a microchip that scans for even heating. You’ll find that this prevents heat fluctuations, which can be good if you’re trying to protect your hair.

Overall we preferred Babyliss for its higher temp and significantly more heat settings, but those who value consistent heating will prefer T3 Lucea.

T3 Lucea vs Babyliss Pro Flat Iron: Plate Width

Many people forget to even check this when buying flat irons and it makes sense. The vast majority of hair flat irons are about 1 inch. This is the standard width and it’s great for giving you more control while stylizing your hair. However, there are other sizes as well that might better fit your needs.

We found that 1.25 inch flat irons, 1.5 inch flat irons, and 2 inch flat irons are also popular, though they don’t get as much attention as 1 inch flat irons. Babyliss Pro Nano Titanium is a highly durable flat iron that heats quickly, can generate a lot of heat, and is able to glide through your hair with ease for fast styling. If you want to finish your hair in a few passes and your hair is thicker and able to take the heat, then you’ll love this model.

T3 Micro Lucea on the other hand takes a bit longer to heat, but the microchip keeps the heat even whether you’re working with thick or thin hair. It requires more passes, but it really glides through your hair and leaves it shiny. For those who are worried about damage, we found that T3 did less damage and was best for vulnerable hair.

It all comes back to the titanium flat iron vs ceramic flat iron debate. For those who are worried about damage, have thinner hair, or prefer more even heating, you’ll find that ceramic models are better for you. If you want speed, higher temperatures, and have thicker hair, then titanium is better.

Babyliss Pro Flat Iron vs T3 Lucea: Comfort

You want a flat iron that fits comfortably in your hand, that’s easy to hold, and that has a smooth hinge. If you’ve ever tried a cheap flat iron, then you know that sometimes the handles are blocky and not molded for your hand. They’re hard to hold and this makes it difficult to straighten your hair.

Thankfully both of these have thin handles that are simple to hold, and they are slightly rounded for better comfort. But is it a tie? Or is one easier to use than the other?

We’d say both are great, but we found that T3 Micro Lucea was a little more comfortable. Not only did the handle have a better shape, but the hinge was smoother. This is a good vs great argument because Babyliss was fantastic, but we just thought that the T3 flat iron felt better.
